Me and B and Little LJ

Welcome to our world! This is just a little experiment to see if this is a good way to keep folks connected in another kind of way. For those of you that talk to us on the phone, you know that you can't get the whole story. So maybe this can fill in the gaps a little. The most recent posts are at the top, so if you're trying to catch up, start at the bottom. Enjoy!

We have an exciting couple of weeks ahead...

Hey guys! Little by little this blog will grow. I haven't written on it too much yet, but it will keep getting better as we go. Well, there's alot to talk about this time. Last week I got a call from a temp-to-hire agency about an opening for an actuary in the Austin area. This was good news for our household since we really wanted to stay in Austin for a while. We were afraid that, since the chances were very slim in the area of getting an actuary job, that we would be moving this summer for the fourth consecutive year as a married couple. And this time we could have had to go out of state, so we were preparing to go anywhere- Dallas, San Antonio, Boston, Connecticut, Maryland, Chicago, Atlanta, Tennessee (sorry Tennesseeans)... But God chose to show favor on us and keep us here for at least another year. Brooke loves her job and is settling in very well, and a move would have been tough for her. So we're thankful for the job. I'm at Citizens Insurance Co. in Austin as an entry level actuary.

So when I got offered the job, I knew that my free days are now numbered, and that means it's now or never for me and B to take a good vacation. She never got her celebration for finishing PT school because she went right in to work from school, so we're gonna go to Florida for a week to Universal Studios and Disney World. Excitement is in the air! And we have 2 weeks to plan it! Well if you know us even a little, you'll know that planning stuff is one of Brooke's strong points (especially if you were in our wedding), so no sweat. We'll keep you posted.

Then if that's not enough, we are really enjoying our music ministry! We led worship last night for a baccalaureate (sp?) service of a high school in the area. We've developed a good relationship with FBC Liberty Hill and Justin, their education/youth minister. Great people there. The core group is alive spiritually. We expect within the next 6 months or so to make ourselves available in a little larger radius than we currently serve in. That's the best way I can think to put it. We know God is blessing our music ministry so we are willing to be used as much as he chooses to use us. We're not out to be famous or anything, just to use our gifts for the encouragement and edification of the church.

Anyway, that's enough for now, especially without pictures. I'll try to take some more and give you a visual next time.

Don't waste your life-

    Thanks Micki-
Good to hear from you too. Get our info from Grandma or Casey. We'd love to hang out. Our door is open if you need a place to bunk, too.
